Hairstyles Using Women’s Hair Pins

Life is short. You might as well live it with great hair.

Women adorn their tresses with a variety of things. Starting from bobby pins and hair pins to glitters and beaded clips to much more.

The options are really endless. Your lovely locks deserve to be glorified and decked up. After all, it is the crown jewel of your body.

Women’s Hair pins are making the comeback of the decade. Where Bobby pins were all the rage in the 2000s, hairpins are now in vogue. The hairpins are the U shaped pins you must have seen/ used in a French bun.

They’re great at securing your hair. Traditional hairpins would hide well under your bun while keeping your bun taught and in place. Now, we’re seeing them in all shapes and sizes. You have gold hairpins, jewelled hair pins, oval and crescent moon hairpins, eclipse hairpins, and so much more! Let’s look at a few ways you can use these to style your hair. But before we get to the hairstyles, prep your hair by washing and styling them in loose beach waves, as they work best for the following hairstyles:

1. Half-bun

  • Step 1

Separate your hair into two halves from the point where your ear starts. Gather your hair in a half-ponytail. Let the other half remain down.

  • Step 2

Start twisting and wrapping the hair into a bun.

  • Step 3

Use your favourite gold hairpin to secure the style in place.

  • Step 4

Take out a few face-framing hair strands and add hairspray to your entire look to secure the look in place.

2. Chic twist

  • Step 1

Tease your hair with a teasing comb to add volume set it with a texture spray. You want as much volume as you can get for this one.

  • Step 2

Separate your hair as you did for the first hairstyle. Now separate them into three vertical partitions. One for each left and right side and one section for the top.

  • Step 3

Create a voluminous half ponytail and start twisting from left to right gently, creating a twist. Secure with your favourite women’s hairpin. You’ll want to insert your hairpin from the left, grab your twist within the pin and tuck it in from the right, horizontally.

3. Chic twisted bun

  • Step 1

Grab all your hair into a low ponytail and start twisting your hair. It’s better to keep it as loose as possible. Be sure you tease your hair and use a texture spray to set it in place before you gather your hair into a twist.

  • Step 2

Now twist this into itself in spirals creating a bun. Tug and pull it to create an effortless messy look. Tug on a few stands on your crown to add more volume.

  • Step 3

Use your stylish large women’s hairpin and secure the bun. Add some face-framing strands to complete the look, and fix it with your favourite hairspray. So effortlessly chic.
